A money printing machine?

If you are reading this blog, and read Seth Godin’s blog, you might already have read this. If you don’t, you should! And here’s a post for you! =)

An nice take on advertising – Do ads work?.

“If the local bank were offering a sale on dollar bills, ninety cents each, how many would you buy?

Well, I would buy as many as I could afford, of course!

Seth continues:

Most rational people would say, “I’ll take them all please.” Especially if you had thirty days to pay for them.

So, why, precisely, do you have an ad budget?

If your ads work, if you can measure them and they return more profit than they cost, why not keep buying them until they stop working?

And if they don’t work, why are you running them?”

We are living in an era of massive change. And change is faster every day. We really need to evaluate what works and what doesn’t. So, how lucky we are then that we are also living in an era where advertising is becoming increasingly more measurable!
