How to get retweets
CopyBlogger had a nice post, 5 Steps to Going Viral on Twitter, by Dan Zarella, which Mack on The Viral Garden followed up on, adding his own advice in How I get ReTweets on Twitter. In short, Dans advice (some with a short comment by me): 1. Call to Action – The words “please” “check [...]
A chance to make up for a forgotten Valentine’s gift
There is still some time left, so if you want to do something extra, if you don’t have time, or if you actually end up fouling up, forgetting all about it until it’s almost too late, here is a chance to make it up for Valentine’s. It might not get you entirely out of trouble, [...]
Word of mouth important in tech decisions
Ian McKee from The Power of Influence references the “Tech Decision Maker” study stating that 51 % of tech decision makers rely on word of mouth for their decisions. Interesting to see though is that user generated media (user generated content, consumer generated media, whatever you prefer), relied upon by 28 % of respondents, in [...]
A brilliant campaign that stumbles badly on the finishing line
Today I saw the Make Me Super site which is a campaign site with a funny personalisation theme. This type of campaign is the “older cousin” to the campaigns with only name personalisation I have written about more than once. Basically: Get a video from a friend, with your own name mysteriously included in the [...]
Facebook required changes to Whopper Sacrifice
I recently wrote about Burger Kings campaign Whopper Sacrifice, a Facebook application where you could de-friend 10 “friends” on Facebook and get a free Whopper. Now it seems Facebook has required changes to the application due to privacy issues, according to Inside Facebook. “Facebook has clarified that it has not shut the app down – [...]

Some weeks ago Swedish digital communications agency Daytona announced a blog award with the following three categories: Marketing (Marknadsföring) Media (Media) Trends & Web Services (Trender och webbtjänster) As previously mentioned, this blog was nominated in the marketing category, which I think has been very inspiring. On Monday, the [...]
Do a lot of followers equal authority?
Twitter has been growing in Sweden lately, challenging Finnish Jaiku, which has been pretty dominant in the social media sphere, and Swedish Bloggy. Meanwhile, over in the US, there seems to have been some discussion on whether many twitter followers equals “authority” (like here and here). Here is my quick take: Not necessarily so. That [...]
I just have to post this!
This is a brilliant ad for Heineken, which has gone viral since launch late in December. So far, about 1,116,103 views, and at least 260 (including this one) blog posts about it, according to Viral Video Chart. Brilliant! Also at: Resumé (in Swedish).
Burger King’s most interesting viral campaign so far!
During the last couple of years Crispin Porter + Bogusky has delivered several interesting campaigns for Burger King. Several of them have gone viral, including Subservient Chicken, Whopper Freakout, Sith Sense and Whopper Virgin (read more about BK advertising). A very interesting, and insightful, recent campaign is the Whopper Sacrifice. A lot of Facebook users [...]
